Modern Slavery — Identification, Investigation, and Reporting

Modern slavery encompasses forced labour, debt bondage, human trafficking, child labour, and other severe forms of exploitation. Identifying it requires more than policy commitments — it requires on-the-ground investigative skills and structured worker engagement.

This course covers the indicators of forced labour and human trafficking across different industry and geographic contexts, worker interview methodologies designed to surface hidden exploitation, document verification techniques, escalation and remediation protocols, and the design of grievance mechanisms that workers actually use.

The course also covers statutory reporting requirements under the UK Modern Slavery Act, Australian Modern Slavery Act, and emerging EU and US frameworks, including what a credible statement of compliance contains and what supply chain transparency actually means.
