Situation or challenge

Our client operates in some of the most dangerous areas of the world in some of the most challenging markets. Several risk areas in the Speeki ESG risk model were in their minds when working with a new logistics provider. They needed to audit the company and test their systems across multiple risk areas quickly.

Solution

Our solution was to deliver an audit plan and conduct audits across multiple countries including on the ground in Iraq, Kuwait, the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Bahrain. Our scope included all areas of compliance and ethics, but with a strong focus on anti-corruption controls. Our purpose was to ensure that the company had robust controls and that it was ready to act for our client and meet their stringent requirements.

Results

The audits were very well received by the subject company, as we were focused on how to improve their systems, not catch them out with issues. The thinking was all about improvement and how to minimise the risk of problems arising. Ultimately the company was provided with a long list of areas that it had to improve and focus on, and they were very appreciative of the guidance provided to help them improve their systems and minimise their risk.
