Speeki publishes a whole-of-programme sustainability management system standard
Speeki has released SPK CSMS1000:2026, a standard that governs an organisation’s entire sustainability programme as one managed system.
For years, organisations have managed sustainability in pieces. One standard for the environment, another for health and safety, another for anti-bribery. Each is strong within its own domain, but none answers a more basic question: does the organisation actually have a functioning system governing sustainability as a whole?
SPK CSMS1000:2026 was built to answer that question. It treats corporate sustainability as a single, whole-of-programme management system rather than a collection of separate disciplines or a disclosure obligation.
A genuine gap in the standards landscape
The ISO management system standards are excellent within their domains. ISO 14001 governs environmental management, ISO 45001 health and safety, ISO 37001 anti-bribery, ISO 50001 energy. What none of them govern, individually or together, is how an organisation manages sustainability as a whole, at board level, with obligations, controls and accountability connected into one architecture.
SPK CSMS1000:2026 fills that gap. It is a 56-clause standard that maps a sustainability programme from the identification of impacts, risks and opportunities all the way through to internal controls over sustainability reporting. It draws on the principles behind ISO 14001, 45001, 50001, 37001, 42001, 26000 and 19011, then goes further by covering the whole programme rather than one corner of it.
Management, not reporting
The standard is deliberately framed as a business management system. It asks organisations to manage sustainability the way they manage finance: systematically, with controls, with accountability and with genuine governance oversight.
That framing produces a distinction most frameworks miss. SPK CSMS1000:2026 separates what must be managed from what must be reported. A topic can be important enough to manage without crossing the threshold for external disclosure. The standard requires organisations to govern the full set of important topics, not only the ones that end up in a report.
