We Built the standard to manage Corporate Sustainability.

Scott lane, CEO and Founder of Speeki

We were so frustrated with the focus on sustainability reporting and so little focus on sustainability management, that we wrote a new standard.

SPK CSMS1000:2026 – the Speeki Corporate Sustainability Management System standard – a new certifiable whole-of-programme sustainability management system standard, with accredited certification through Speeki.

Scott Lane, CEO and Founder, and Lead Auditor

Speeki is at the forefront of building solutions to help manage sustainability and build trust in sustainability reporting through audit and assurance.

Is this another ESG reporting standard?

No. Absolutely not. (That’s the last thing the World needs)

Learn why through a quick overview.

What is SPK CSMS1000 and why is it important?

Sustainability has moved from voluntary commitment to governed obligation. Regulators, investors, customers and communities now expect organisations not just to make sustainability commitments, but to manage them – systematically, documentably and in a way that can be independently verified.

SPK CSMS1000:2026 is the standard that defines what that management system looks like. It covers the full architecture of corporate sustainability governance from materiality assessment and strategy through to operational controls, performance monitoring, sustainability reporting and continuous improvement – in a single, integrated, certifiable framework.

The Speeki Engage® | ESG and Sustainability Assurance platform manages every element of that framework in one platform, and Speeki's experienced auditors certify it.

Why did Speeki build SPK CSMS1000:2026?

SPK CSMS1000:2026, the Speeki Corporate Sustainability Management System standard, is the first certifiable whole-of-programme sustainability management system standard.

Published by Speeki and structured in broad alignment with ISO's Harmonised Structure for management system standards, it provides organisations with a comprehensive, requirements-based framework for establishing, implementing, documenting, governing and continuously improving a corporate sustainability management system across all material ESG topics.

Unlike domain-specific standards, which govern one defined area each, SPK CSMS1000:2026 governs the whole programme.

This is not a competition between SPK CSMS1000:2026 and ISO domain standards. Existing ISO certifications are recognised within the SPK CSMS1000:2026 assessment – organisations holding ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 37001, ISO 50001 or ISO 42001 certifications will find that those certifications reduce assessment scope for the corresponding clauses.

The standards are explicitly complementary: domain standards provide depth within each ESG domain; SPK CSMS1000:2026 provides the governance architecture across all of them.

Why does sustainability need yet another standard?

Most organisations approach sustainability the same way they approached compliance twenty years ago – as a reporting exercise rather than a management discipline. They publish a sustainability report, disclose metrics against a framework like GRI or ISSB and consider the obligation met. What they have built is a reporting system.

What they need is a management system.

The difference matters enormously – to regulators, to investors and increasingly to the courts and enforcement authorities that are being asked to hold organisations accountable for sustainability commitments that turned out to be undocumented, ungoverned and unverifiable.

A sustainability management system is not a report. It is the structured, documented, governed architecture that sits behind the report – the materiality assessment process that determined what topics are managed, the strategy and objectives that define what the organisation is trying to achieve, the operational controls that manage material impacts across business units and supply chains, the monitoring and measurement systems that track performance and the review mechanisms that drive continuous improvement.

Without that architecture, sustainability reporting is assertion. With it, sustainability reporting is evidence.

When your sustainability management system lives in the Speeki Engage® | ESG and Sustainability Assurance platform, your auditors don't arrive to inspect your programme. They arrive to confirm what the platform already shows.
